“To become happy, changes are crucial.” (nl)

Dear reader,

After six wonderful years in Antwerp, I moved to Amsterdam a few months ago. The decision to leave everything behind and start anew had nothing to do with a breakup or any other unpleasant event. On the contrary, in the past years, I received a lot of love from both my good friends and my loyal partner. I was convinced that my future plans would unfold in Antwerp, until I suddenly found myself in an Amsterdam house with four unfamiliar faces.

Whether it's leaving your partner, pursuing a new study, or moving abroad, change can be intimidating and comes with pain and longing. But changes are crucial for our happiness. By distancing yourself from the familiar, you create the space needed to reflect on what is close to your heart. Even changes we cannot embrace should not be dismissed.

The four unfamiliar faces in my house have become four housemates that I wouldn't want to miss for anything. Embracing change holds the belief that something or someone will have a positive impact on your life. The fear of the unknown fades away, and before you know it, you look back on the change with joy.

With love, Stefanie Gordin
