Dear reader,

In the past few months, I have often found myself feeling sad because a dear person chose to remove me from their life. This painful rejection led me to doubt my intelligence and creative abilities. We always said that the stars collide with the sea and the sea collides with the stars — that is love, a collision.

Is it worth pushing away loving individuals who always see the best in you? Exchanging meaningful conversations for pointless ones; laughing eyes for sorrowful ones, and magical night strolls for lonely revelries?

Although I could no longer turn to this person, I rediscovered my close friendships and met new people who immediately inspired me with their sincerity. Friends became family, and strangers became friends.

There are always people who will embrace your intelligence and creative abilities without you having to prove yourself, just as you will embrace theirs. Love between individuals is a collision in the most positive sense of the word. It is a collision of different thoughts and ideas that blend into a unique whole, where you continually motivate and encourage each other to grow.

If we focus more on growth and less on why some people choose to remove dear ones from their lives, life becomes more bearable. Rejection becomes a springboard for expanding our existing capabilities. In short, a painful rejection leads to countless embraces.

With love, Stefanie
